Join Paisley Heritage SCIO for an enchanting evening exploring the charms, potions and curious old customs that coloured everyday life in Scotland. This is not a tale of dark deeds or fearful superstition, but a celebration of the small wonders and home-grown magic that once shaped how ordinary people understood their world.
Long before storybooks gave us wizards and spells, folk across Scotland had their own ways of inviting good fortune and keeping trouble at bay. A pinch of salt on the doorstep, a sprig of rowan tied above the lintel, a rhyme whispered to calm a restless child — each gesture was part of a living language of belief, blending tradition, hope and imagination.
