Exploring Glasgow on Foot with Kevin from Walking Glasgow

Paisley Heritage: Good morning, Kevin. Thank you for joining us today. Could you start by telling us a bit about Walking Glasgow and how it all began?

Kevin: Morning! I've been running Walking Glasgow for just over two years now, and it's been an incredible journey. We have over 13,000 followers on social media, which shows how much people appreciate exploring the city's history and culture on foot.

Paisley Heritage: That's impressive! What kind of walks do you offer?

Kevin: I offer around eight out of my twelve themed guided walks each week around central Glasgow. These walks are completely free of charge, although I do encourage small donations to the RNLI charity. Thanks to the generosity of participants, I've been able to hand over presentation cheques to lifeboat stations around Scotland.

Paisley Heritage: It's wonderful to hear about your support for the RNLI. Can you share a bit more about your walks and what participants can expect?

Kevin: Each walk is themed, focusing on different aspects of Glasgow's rich heritage. Whether it's the architecture, historical events, or famous Glaswegians, there's something for everyone. I strive to make each walk engaging and informative, ensuring participants leave with a deeper appreciation for the city.

Paisley Heritage: You mentioned your website. Could you tell our readers where they can find more information?

Kevin: Absolutely! You can find all the details about the walks, including schedules and themes, on my website at www.walkingglasgow.com.

Paisley Heritage: Have you had any notable participants on your walks?

Kevin: Yes, I've been fortunate enough to take our Lord Provost out on a walk, which was a great honour. It’s always exciting to share Glasgow's history with distinguished guests.

Paisley Heritage: You've also received recognition for your efforts. Can you tell us more about that?

Kevin: I’m proud to have won a couple of awards for promoting Glasgow and my fundraising efforts for the RNLI. It's gratifying to see the impact of my work being acknowledged.

Paisley Heritage: That’s fantastic, Kevin. Finally, is there anything else you'd like to share with our readers?

Kevin: Just that I'm always happy to answer any other questions. Walking Glasgow has been a rewarding experience, and I encourage everyone to join a walk and see the city from a new perspective.

Paisley Heritage: Thank you so much for your time, Kevin. We look forward to joining one of your walks soon!

Kevin: Thank you! I look forward to welcoming you and your readers on a walk around Glasgow.
