I was already running a few different smaller Facebook groups that involve the local community and creating group events in the local area, some of which are heritage type events. I decided in April 2024 that it would be nice to offer these types of events to members of the Paisley Heritage Group.

When I reached out to Gavin with this idea, he was on board from day one and I’ve been overwhelmed with the response from group members. With now over 27 events under my belt and nearly 400 people attending those events, I think it’s fair to say that they’re a huge success! With everything from walks to talks, to tours, to afternoon teas to murder mystery events, to online meet & greets there’s really something for everyone.

If you feel that you have some specific knowledge on a Paisley subject and would like to do a talk and/or a presentation on it, then please let us know. I hope to see some of you soon at a group event.

Favourite building - Hands down, has to be Thomas Coats Memorial Church. It’s beautiful inside and out and an iconic building in Paisley.

Favourite historical story - invention of the CHIP and PIN by Paisley buddie James Goodfellowe, OBE.

Wish for Paisley (what would you like to see or see improved?) - Organisations all working together collaboratively to welcome people to our town and showcasing what it has to offer.
